I'm Not Sleepy!

We have extended Brady's bedtime while here so he will be more likely to sleep through the night. It has pretty much worked like a charm until it backfired on us last night. We went through the usual bedtime routine and put him down at 8pm. Well, he didn't think that was a good idea. If I had been by myself, I would have continued to put him in his crib every time he climbed out because he needed to sleep, but Greg wanted to let him stay up so I let him. I don't know why. The next time I looked at the clock it was almost 10 pm and Brady showed no sign of stopping. I told Greg that I was willing to put Brady to bed unless he wanted to stay up with him. Well, Greg decided to stay up, so I went to bed. I didn't get much rest because Brady continued to come into the room and try to play! Greg got him out of the room and apparently had to put a table and chairs in front of the door so he wouldn't keep coming in. Finally, around midnight Greg had enough and placed Brady in his crib. Would you believe that Brady climbed out of his crib and tried to get us up? I gave him some milk and he finally was down for the count. When I woke up this morning and walked into the living space, I thought WWIII had taken place! Apparently, Brady did not want anything in any drawer, any toy in the toy box, none of my personal items in the vanity, and no pans in the kitchen. He just felt like things needed to be re-arranged and he was the only one that could do it correctly!
